Cardiovascular Disease

There are several current theories as to how one develops Heart Disease and atherosclerosis.  We do know that metabolic syndrome and the condition of having excess insulin is a key factor to it’s development.  With that being said, we know that any of the 5 findings are linked to heart disease: high blood pressure, high glucose, expanded waist line, high triglycerides and low HDL cholesterol.

You may have noticed that there was no mention of the so-called “bad” cholesterol, LDL. How LDL

suddenly becomes detrimental to our health is an interesting history lesson.  Unfortunately, the evidence and scientific challenge rages on while people continue to suffer from this silent killer.

The good news is that there are huge improvements in risk factors for people undergoing lifestyle change. This multifactorial approach at reducing metabolic syndrome is our focus for success.  It’s not uncommon to see all 5 findings of the metabolic syndrome improve in motivated patients in a relatively short period of time.

But what will my doctor say about all this…

We will arm you with scientific information needed to help educate as well as navigate your next doctor’s appointment.  You can be confident that you are taking the right steps towards a happier, healthier heart.
